Keith's Birthday Present
For those of you who have been voting and guessing (on our Instagram page @farmers_wife2018) ...we are ready to announce our newest addition to the farm.
Keith gifted me with a guardian dog a few months ago (for my birthday) and I gifted him with....3 American Guinea Hogs.
The American Guinea hogs come from the Canary Islands (where we honeymooned). They are rare and only 200 exist in the United States. We traveled to two states to bring home a male and two females. We are hoping they will breed soon and come fall we may have lots of piglets to raise and potentially sell. A lot of you were expecting goats but you know we love our rare animals and pigs can be very beneficial to the permaculture environment we have established on our farm. They will be pasture raised and well loved here on Everhart Farm. We are so excited for this journey and to become a part of the American Guinea Hog Association (we will be one of 3 registered farms in Ohio).
